SPE Trust  invites proposals from Educational Institutions, Existing Study Centres, NGOs, Entrepreneurs and others for acting as a online Programme Study Centre of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, DD&CE, Tirunelveli approved by UGC,DEC(Govt of Tamil Nadu) to offer following Mode

1. Online Programme (E-Learning),

 Manonmaniam Sundaranar University 

                        The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU) was established at Tirunelveli by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1990 under the provision of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Act, 1990 (Act 31 of 1990). The university is named after the Tamil poet laureate Thiru. Sundaram Pillai (1855-1897) who is the author of the famous verse drama “Manonmaniam”, one of the five epics or classics in Tamil.

The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with “B++” Grade by NAAC. The MSU is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

The University is situated at Abishekapatti, 8 kms from the City of Tirunelveli, on Tirunelveli – Tenkasi Road, in a sprawling campus of 550 acres of land. As of now, the University has 24 Academic Departments and 102 Affiliated Colleges. The University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges cater the educational needs of more than fifty thousand students and research scholars. The University adopts Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for all regular courses.

In addition, there is the Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) at the University Campus. The Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) of MSU was established in the year 1993. The DDCE at present has 105 Centres spread all over India and abroad as Distance Education Study Centres (DESC), and the number is steadily increasing.

A variety of both technical and general courses are offered, leading to diploma and degree courses, keeping in view the needs of different sectors. The Self-instructional Materials (SIM) prepared in the prescribed format of Distance Education Council (DEC) are provided to the students supplemented by compact discs.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

a.    Training Methodology

The student gets ample opportunities of faculty interaction, student interaction, group discussion, mock test, practice test in our training methodology. They get adequate upliftment in personality development, communication and soft skills and industry exposures empowering them to be employable and self sustainable.

 Under its ONLINE Programme, primarily enrollments are from working class who has adequate subject knowledge. They are provided the entire learning material on web and in the middle of the semester, where they can address their queries raised during their learning process.

 b.    Computer Based Tutorials

          University has converted the Self Learning Material into Computer Bases Tutorials (CBT). The gist and essence of the text books are converted to digital frames that are embedded with animations, movies, graphs, inline questions and are interesting to go through. With the help of CBT any student can study at his / her home or at any place where computer is available.

c. Learning Management System (LMS)

            University has also created Learning Management System (LMS) which is an online tool through which any student of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University can learn anywhere with the help of internet. LMS is extended version of study and this is today’s demand. This can tie together administrators, teachers and students in an online space. This shows online real-time replication of actual classroom, Power of online testing. This will helps students “Study Anytime-Anywhere”.

d. Audio-Visual Material Aids

            The learning package contain CD-ROM/DVD allows the students to take advantage of Technology Enabled Learning benefits without need for an Internet connection.

e. Flexi Learning Model

            The Flexi Learn delivery model is designed for lifelong Learners who prefer suiting their educational experience to their own time schedule. It is more convenient education using the traditional methods of distance learning and is especially designed for those Learners who prefer printed materials and training classes as there are going to be limited access to a computer and internet.

E-MENTORING

            Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is introducing an E-Mentoring support to all its students. E-Mentoring involves giving academic support necessary for Technology Enabled Learning learners. Through the E-Mentoring programme, students will be able to address their specific academic queries via e-mail to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. These queries will be answered by our expert faculty and an in-depth reply will be sent to the students. This E-Mentoring support via e-mail will be available throughout the academic tenure of the each student.

1. Required Area – 2200 – 2500 Sq. Ft.

2. Library – Minimum 500 Books, Journal & Magzines.

3. Lab – Minimum 20 Computers.

4. System Configuration – PIV/512 MB RAM/100 GB HDD (or above)

5. Class Rooms – White Board & 1‐OHP and 30 Chairs Per Class Room.

6. Miscellaneous – Generator Set / Invertors as per load.
