Proud to be an INDIAN.

We, the Indians can proudly celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. The reputation “Mahatma” for Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was first introduced by Ravindranath Tagore (National anthem writer). He struggled & blooded a lot for the freedom of all the Indian people. His struggles and the way he fought with the people of England were amazing. The England emperors itself was taken aback by the way he fought for our freedom. All the freedom fighters moved forward towards our freedom by their strength, muscle and the equipments like sword, guns, knives, etc. but Mahatma Gandhi moved forward without any harmful equipments. He took the harmless equipment called Non-violence. He became success.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, was born on October 2, 1869 at Porbandar. His father is Karamchand Gandhi and his mother is Putlibai. He was married to kasthurbhai. In his younger days he had all the bad habits like smoking, stealing, etc., later he amended for the faults that he had committed.

He was studying in a law college in England, he used to wear all the modern dresses, silk hat, chain watches, etc., but during his freedom fight he wore only cotton clothes, that too only for his lower body not even for his upper body. Because once he had seen some people working under the hot sun without having the dress even to cover their full body. So he also decided to struggle and live like them and to take part in their struggles. By seeing his simplicity most of the people start giving some inspirational quotes about him. One of the best among them is, Albert Einstein’s

“Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth”.

He lived by the way he preached and announced to the people to live. He lived his life as an example for his followers. He was an excellent orator; he used to teach the people how to perform a speech and to live the way they preach. One of the famous words by him is

“An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching”.

He as a man of India struggled a lot to get the freedom for our Mother Land. He has gone to prison, beaten and was wounded. Though he struggled a lot for the freedom of our country, he was not so happy to see the independent India, because it divided into two as Hindu and Muslim community. The country was also divided into two as India and Pakistan. The all effort he has tried became fruitless. In 1948 January he was shot dead by a hindu fanatic Nathuram Godse. Though his life ends there, He lives in the heart of all Indians.
In this auspicious occasion we can all remember his struggles and miscellaneous troubles that he pained for our freedom and we all can pray for him and take an oath to live a simple life like him and Live For Our Country

What strikes every Indian when they hear the word Mother is Mother India,
Mother Terasa and and their own Maa!

Mothers day is celebrated on Second Sunday of May in India every year. (For 2009 it is May 10th and for 2010 it is May 9th).

The most beautiful word in the whole world is “Mother”.

“There is a Hindi dialogue ‘mere pass ma hai’ which means even if I have got nothing I have my mother here. I want to thank her for coming all the way to support me,” – ARRahman on receiving Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire.

Mothers Day is the special day to salute all mothers throughout world. Mother is considered as living god who stays and lives with and for us, showers love and affection and expects nothing. One cannot set boundaries set for her abundant affection and unconditional love for her children.

Moms brings us to this world, witness our presence, first movement, first voice, first walk, our needs and wants. Life is sweet and short, cherish your moments with your mother, and help her out not just on Mother’s day but all days all year.

People in India treat cow, land, water, etc., and worship them with women names. It is time to start treating and giving more importance to your mom.

Children and even some elder persons must take pledge on this day – that you will do these things without bothering your mother forever:

a)	Fold your bed sheets
b)	Help in Kitchen
c)	Help in Cleaning
d)	Go to shopping
e)	Ask her how she is doing frequently.
f)	Surprise her
g)	Support her
h)	Care for her
i)	Don’t argue for no reasons
j)	Be reasonable

What are you going to do for your Mom? There are various events across India, especially
in Chennai. Chennai Super Mom event, Park Mom Day out event, etc., – anything
happening at your part of world to celebrate Motherhood? – Write to us!
